Climb Picacho mountain and take in the view of the Pacific and Atlantic Ocean. There are several overlook points and bird observations areas in Altos del Maria as well as the Rio Maria River Trail where you will find multiple waterfalls, rapids and swimming holes. Drive 30 minutes to any of our Pacific coasts, or drive to El Valle to the market and buy some wonderful handmade decorations or jewelry. It is a real paradise.
If while you are staying in Casa Coqui and want to go to the beach, of the nearby beaches, the best by far is Coronado. Here you’ll find every convenience! There are several big upscale grocery stores and a string of fun restaurants and bars but best of all - the magnificent ocean views. Of course, there’s also the Hotel Coronado Golf & Beach Resort. The beach here is part of the Arco Seco or “dry arch,” so dubbed because the region is among the nation’s driest. And when you’re done in Coronado—don’t forget the sunscreen—head back up to Sora. Where you can literally chill out as the sun goes down along with the thermostat. While daytime temperatures average in the low 80s, nighttime can bring dips into the 60s.
